Modernist apartment from 1900 in Ciutat Vella

Located in a historic setting, across from the Palau de la Música, this full renovation reveals years of stories embedded in its restored walls. Throughout the project, our focus was on preserving the original character of the residence while adapting it to the client’s needs. The beautifully preserved hydraulic tiles were kept in place, while microcement was chosen to unify the main living areas.
Non-heritage false ceilings were removed, increasing ceiling height and exposing the original wooden structure with the traditional Catalan vaults. Transforming the old apartment into a co-living space required a complete redesign. Given the age of the building, it was essential to reconfigure the plumbing cores and reposition the kitchen, updating all the systems to meet modern standards.
